At a time of rising geopolitical tension and economic uncertainty, the European Union faces a central question: can it still make the collective choices needed to remain effective, or is it increasingly constrained by internal divisions?

We will discuss with Marco Buti the key trade-offs shaping Europe’s future, from sovereignty and fiscal autonomy to industrial policy and defence. The conversation goes beyond individual policy areas to examine a broader shift: why crises no longer seem to produce the same momentum toward deeper integration, challenging the long-standing logic associated with Jean Monnet.

Join us on the 13th of May at 13:00-14:00, in the E-Hall of the Roeterseiland campus!
