Room for Discussion podium
🇬🇧
This interview is in English
This November Room for Discussion is going to explore the pharmaceutical industry. We will approach this topic through an in-depth analysis of the ethical, economical and political implications of this fascinating sector. Currently, new expensive medical treatments and medication are obliterating healthcare budgets. Can these price increases be traced back to actual costs? What are the ethical implications of a for-profit life-saving company? How will we make healthcare sustainable? During the interview we will look beyond the stereotype of the evil pharmaceutical industry to see how tradeoffs are made within this complex sector.
We are honoured to announce that our guest for this interview will be Professor Marcel Levi. He works as the chief executive of University College London Hospitals and professor of Medicine at UCL, London. He was (vice-)chairman of the Netherlands Organization for Medical Research and chairman of the Executive Board of the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam.
